Keep your shirt on, guys, we’re all excited here.
We are working with Borders Books to host a Benefits Day for the weekend of March 19.
Borders has agreed that for every person who makes a purchase during that day in support of the HPA (this support is shown by bringing in a coupon voucher* for the cashiers to scan), they will return a percentage of the sales to us. Because we are a national event, we have also received an online code so people can make purchases online if they prefer that to coming into a store.
Cool? Yes. What do you guys as chapters have to do?
For the next month, let everyone know about this great opportunity to support the HPA and to pass the coupon voucher out to as many people as possible - friends, family, coworkers, etc. Even if all someone does is use the voucher with a latte at the Borders cafe or towards a paperback book, part of their sales will still be used to help us.
But wait, THERE’S MORE!
We are not permitted to pass out the coupon vouchers on the day of the event (as Borders considers this to be unwanted solicitation of customers), however, we can set up information tables to explain who we are and what our goals are. While chapters can contact your local stores individually, please email alysse@thehpalliance.org
if you are interested in setting up an information stand so she can give you additional information. She will also forward that information to Borders so that they can alert stores about setting up tables. However, you would still need to confirm with your local Borders that you are setting up a table.
More info on Benefit Days.
*Coupon vouchers should be available on the website sometime soon. This thread will be updated when it is.
We need to get on this people!! :)
DFTBA and TTYL,
Jess
